History Makers Knowledge Hunt: This week you can begin your hunt to research notable figures currently making history. Remember this is not about speed...it's about detail. Submit a complete and well researched form and win a prize for your form!

Black Chronicles Photography Exhibition: The Black Chronicles Exhibition features are some historic (predominantly Victorian) photographs of BAME from both UK and across the UK and the USA. You may wish to use as inspiration for another upcoming creative event!

Jollof Wars: Cooking competition that showcases students ability to demonstrate their interpretation of the traditional West African dish, Jollof rice. You may wish to consult our current champion Kehinde for tips. Students must register interest on the sign up sheet to be shortlisted.

Art Competition. We want you to use the resources below and look at the biographies of the Great Black Britons nominated on www.100greatblackbritons.com You can choose one or several Great Black Britons. You then need to create a unique and innovative project to celebrate their work and legacy.

Are you a music buff? We will put your knowledge to the test in our Black History Musical Bingo. Can you tell which song is being sung above? You are going to need to dust of your parents old CD's or your Nan's vinyl to get some of the more historical ones but have a go at the newer ones if not. Good Luck |

Friday Orchestra Chineke! Britain's first majority Black and Minority Ethnic orchestra create opportunities for musicians that otherwise may not have been able to play. They will be combining with our own students to perform for us. Click the image for more information.

Black Chronicles Photography Exhibition: The Black Chronicles Exhibition features are some historic (predominantly Victorian) photographs of BAME from both UK and across the UK and the USA.
Library Black History Month Event: Throughout the month there is a display promoting books by BAME authors. There are various activities and a competition running for keen readers. Students can access this at social times and after school.
MOBO Mornings Begins: Student DJ’s to play music of black origin at the start of each day.
Charity sale at break: Students will sell snacks and home name accessories to raise money for the sickle cell society.
Cultural non-uniform day: Students to wear traditional cultural clothing or flag colours to represent their cultural identity.
World Poetry Day competition: In conjunction with World Poetry students to begin writing poems combining truth with the BHM theme: ‘When you see me…’.
Meet the Fox lunch time event: Special 4 part event investigating the life of Albert Woodfox.

Chineke Orchestra: Chineke Orchestra, a group made up of predominantly black musicians to lead musical workshop.
Guest Speaker: Guest speaker to share his story and thoughts on the importance of drive and goals.
Afrobeats Dance Workshop: Student led workshop from some of our leading dancers in the Afrobeats genre
When you see me PSHE: Students to have guidance on how the limitations that society put on us can be overcome and used to springboard positive change in society.
Walk in the shoes of the Fox: Part 3 of the investigating the life of Albert Woodfox.
Tallis Mini Festival: Lunchtime celebration with music, food and dancing.
Movie Reward: Students who have 100% attendance and good positive points to be invited to watch a movie.
Missing Monuments Trip: A small group will go to see the Kara Walker exhibition at the Tate Modern to explore how Black Britons are memorialised.
